The TV saga continues...

So the ballast finally arrived yesterday and was installed today. But there is yet ANOTHER problem! The color wheel has exploded! The heat from the fireplace below the tv (THANK YOU RICHMOND AMERICAN FOR DESIGNING SUCH A GREAT SETUP!) dramatically shortened the lifespan of the parts. You could see the heat wear on various gaskets & lenses inside the tv. The repair man was very nice & educational. He's going to order the part personally instead of trusting it to the incompetent $7/hr girls at the office. So maybe next week we'll have a working tv again. This is the color wheel:

Man, that REALLY sucks. Im sorry. Maybe you could build a shallow platform to put the TV on? I gotta say though, the color wheel looks cool. It kind of made me want to open my TV and check it out.

Your blog is so cute! Sorry you missed the party, come by and see the goodies whenever you want. :)

ack! no tv? Our LCD did great over the fireplace, does yours not have a full mantle? we kept a thermometer under the tv and would check it from time to time.

We don't have an LCD, it's a DLP. There is actually a cut out above the fireplace to put a tv...hence no wall there to mount and LCD. In a year or two after we've finished the Dave Ramsey debt snowball we'll probably get a tv like Kristi & Jeff's, but till then we'll save our pennies and fix this one :(

Any new news on the TV adventure? I don't feel like I want to crawl into a hole and die anymore, lol. We should play soon. Want to get together Friday or next Monday for lunch somewhere? We could meet at a park or south towne mall. Have you been to the dino land there yet? the kids love it and they have small things for the babies to climb over.
